Jane wrote the only book I've ever wished I had written myself: Systems of Survival.

Don't remember if I mentioned this before, but here's a link to an interesting interview of Jane Jacobs in the year 2000 (I think) where she discusses idea regarding the economic revitalization of Buffalo, New York. (While looking through some old papers, I ran across a hard copy of the interview earlier today.)

What's particularly interesting is the interviewers (or at least one of the interviewers) have read more than just "Death and Life of Great American Cities," so there are questions / comments that also refer to "The Nature of Economies" (and how it relates to the proposals for the economic redevelopment of Buffalo) and "Systems of Suvival" (and how it relates to public / private partnerships and urban renewal).

Here's the link:

If the link doesn't work, the interview is entitled, "A Conversation with Jane Jacobs," by Hank Bromley, and can be found in the archives of the fixbuffalo website. (It can be easily found doing a Yahoo search of Jane Jacobs Buffalo.)
