I'd Really Like to Observe ...

Donald Pittenger writes:

Dear Blowhards --

Ever hanker for a fly-on--the-wall moment? Here are some of my nominations:

  • An editorial board meeting of The New York Times.

  • The jury for the final selection of the Pritzker Prize for architecture.

  • The jury for the final selection of the Nobel Peace Prize.

  • 2Blowhards frequent commenters Shouting Thomas and Chris White getting together for a beer/coffee/whatever. (Actually, they might hit it off pretty well in person: Ya never know.)

I'll probably post some more later, but you can mention yours in Comments.

Later,

Donald

I'm a wine drinker, Donald. Don't drink beer much.

The Pacific northwest is one of the world's great wine producers. The merlots and pinor noirs of Oregon are fantastic!

Back to school for me tomorrow. Won't be any time to drive sense into that mutton head Chris.

Perhaps, in July when I'm on vacation, I'll give it a try.

Agreed, ST. I lived in Portland, OR for a year and delivered wine/beer to stores up there. Had to make trips out to the Wilamette Valley to pick up loads from some smaller wineries out there. Not only is it incredibly beautiful, but the wines produced, particularly the pinots (as you mention) and even a Gewürztraminer. Portland and the surrounding areas in general are fantastic. I miss it.

I would love to have been in the room when the producers of "Howard the Duck" gave the go-ahead to start production. Where do people like this get such confidence?

A verbal showdown between a flaming gay designer and a bitchy black runway model -- to see who can out-bitchy-black-woman who.

I'm starting to think that a mutual drinking session (duly recorded for posterity) between ST and CW should become a collective group project for this blog, if all parties are interested.

Easy...

She don't lie. She don't lie. She don't lie [does too!]....COCAINE.

Well, I DO get within a few miles of Woodstock every so often.

If Chris and ST ever do get together, I'll buy a FlipCam to record the event and I'll post the video to YouTube.

Being a law student, I hafta mention the US Supreme Court conferences. Depending on the issue, I imagine some of the justices hurling objects at one another.

Here are some things I would have liked to have seen.

I'd like to have observed the 9-11 hijackers going through security.

On a lighter note, I'd like to have observed when whats-his-name proposed to Liza Minelli.
