In which a group of graying eternal amateurs discuss their passions, interests and obsessions, among them: movies, art, politics, evolutionary biology, taxes, writing, computers, these kids these days, and lousy educations.

Back in Business

Michael Blowhard writes:

As far as I can tell, the blog is now behaving as it ought to. Many thanks for patience, etc. Let the party begin anew.

Many thanks as well to our excellent blog-hosts, GlobalNet. I've heard numerous horror stories about Evil Webhosts, so I count 2Blowhards as very lucky to have landed at GlobalNet. Reasonable rates; rare downtime; and quick, courteous, and effective responses to whatever problems do arise.

Plus, they're based in Traverse City, Michigan, and how can you not love that?

PS: Those fascinated by the Larry Summers girls/boys/science brouhaha will find a terrific collection of links and comments here.

Ah Traverse City. Possibly the spot I love best on earth, so it's nice just to hear its name bandied about. Have you been up there, Michael? I can't remember whether you are formerly a Michigander (one of us! one of us!).

P.S. I should have said--

one of us!? one of us!?

What a coincidence! Out of Lascaux is back in business, too, although it took a year to fix those particular problems. Glad to see this blog still going strong enough to rise above it's glitches.

OGIC -- We spent a week or so in northern-southern Michigan and were amazed by how pretty it was. Traverse City's an adorable small city. I'm forgetting but you'll probably know: there's a well-known lit writer who lives there, no?

Alexandra -- Welcome back, we missed you.
