Low-Carb Update

Dear Friedrich --

I was at the health-food store eyeballing the huge selection of low-carb bars on display when one of them caught my eye, The Z-Carb Bar. Its tagline (or whatever you call the ad-ish line that pitches the product):

Zero Carbs. Zero Guilt. Zero Laxative Effect.

Sure makes me want to chow down!

I hereby nominate the Z-Carb Bar for an Oscar for Least-Appetizing Sales Pitch Ever.

Best,

Michael

LOL! Actually, I think you have a good sociological portrait of a society (shoppers in that store, for instance) that "guilt" and "laxative effect" would be the two most important features of anything!! Especially since, two years ago, they would have said---high fat, bad-bad, 1000% guilt! Perhaps the "laxative effect" part would have still been 0.

Does the last part of that translate as "100% chance of constipation"? Always a problem with low-carb diets...
