I love following developments in movie technology. Everything's at such an in-between state these days: half-film, half-digital, and often in unpredictable ways. You might make tests on a digi-still camera, have a TV monitor on the set, shoot on film, edit and colorize on computer, and then press a DVD to show it to someone before you return it to film, for instance.

It's fun to follow the technical language as it tries to keep up with developments too. I notice in a new issue of ICG Magazine (the publication of the cinematographers' guild) that companies advertising high-end motion picture cameras no longer call them "movie cameras." Now they're "image acquisition systems."
