Free Reads -- Deadbeat Moms

Friedrich --

Research shows that women who lose custody of their kids in a divorce are even less likely than dads who lose custody to pony up child support, here.

A sample:

Census figures show only 57 percent of moms required to pay child support -- 385,000 women out of a total of 674,000 -- give up some or all of the money they owe. That leaves some 289,000 "deadbeat" mothers out there, a fact that has barely been reported in the media. That compares with 68 percent of dads who pay up, according to the figures.

Thanks to View From the Right for spotting this.

My mother doesn't pay child support, and my father's struggling to give us a suitable home.

my husband has full custody of his two children. His ex-wife doesn't have a job, hasn't for 2 1/2 years now! we have taken her to court. Filed for a bench warrent, we have taken all the steps to get her to pay support again. The courts have still not taken action on this. If my husband was the one behind in child support, I beleive he would be in jail!! Is there no justice for the Father?

My ex-wife won't pay any child support for are three children because she can't ever keep a job ,but she will call and tell my wife off because she don't like not being told anything about the children . I have had full custody if my children for 4 years and she don't even see them she left the state because she has a warrant out on her.Yeah I say she is a deadbeat.

My husband has had custody of his three children for a year. One of his daughters is special needs, to boot. His moron ex wife remarried a month after she kicked her kids out and hasn't paid her whopping $94.50 a week since February of this year. We have been going to court almost every month since last May, paying our lawyer $200/hr and she shows up when she feels like it, or doesn't. The judge even had the clerk call her at her house to get her down to the court house once! She hadn't seen the kids in 7 months and then when our state (RI) sent her a summons for contempt, she magically got a lawyer and has had supervised visits for 6 weeks now. She is in the middle of appealing a Disability claim. She only applied for Disability when she got ordered to pay child support -she's trying to weasal out of it. She owes my husband $4200 right now and still climbing. We just went to court last Thursday and waited around for 3 hours for our case to be heard-she's trying to insert her equally psycho current husband into the supervised visits, but left the courthouse before the issue of child support ever got addressed!!!
From the very beginning HER rights have been protected and she has been gien chane after chance and has evaded jail. We have another court date in July...and the beat goes on....

At least we're not alone. From what I'm seeing, I guess she's got to get into the 10,000's for anything to happen....
