In which a group of graying eternal amateurs discuss their passions, interests and obsessions, among them: movies, art, politics, evolutionary biology, taxes, writing, computers, these kids these days, and lousy educations.

Conventions about Everything

Michael Blowhard writes:

Dear Blowhards --

Coming soon to Phoenix: the world's biggest thriller (as in book-thriller, not movie-thriller) convention. And soon to take place in the Chicago area: ShibariCon, the convention for those who love the art of Japanese rope bondage.

Best,

Michael

How is it that I live in Chicago and this is the first I'm hearing about ShibariCon? The Chicago Convention & Visitors Bureau is going to get an earful from me!

Just as there is an Association of Association Executives really there must be a convention for convention planners. Maybe even an annual get-together for unconventional convention planners. If so, you can be sure it will not be held in Orlando.
