Have you ever noticed how much David Hasselhoff looks like Howie Mandel? I'm just asking.

I think there's less cheese in Wisconsin.

Words are inadequate to express my feelings.

No.

You know of course this is purely aimed at the German market [4th largest music market in the world]?

They seem to think there Hasselhoff, who has a German name, singlehandedly ended the Cold War. He sang 'Rockin for freedom' in Berlin, and the Wall fell, [though not necessarily in that order].

And mind you, compared to what Germans and Austrians regard as popular music [the program Musikantenstadl and the like] Hasselhoff isn't cheesy at all, but avant garde in the extreme.

The song is called 'Lookin'for Freedom'.

O well.

I've seen much worse: http://www.collegehumor.com/movies/1682242/

Wow, those make-your-own-music-video studios at the mall are turning out excellent work, aren't they?

"Looking for freedom" and not "Hooked on a feeling"? Good lord, yet another pop song I've been singing along to all wrong ...

Anyone who doubts the Hasselhof's greatness should check out his Amazon reviews.

Maybe the second best video ever, as the best is Donald Fagen's for "The New Frontier."

And, just a quibble, it's pop/dance, not rock since the beat is a cheazy drum machine.

Posted by: Yahmdallah on April 24, 2006 11:44 AM

Wow. Maybe the corniest pop video ever.

I kept getting distracted by the various ways that the video kept covering Hasselhoff's lack of rhythm and inability to dance.

On the other hand, his singing was adequate, and a good match for the catchy but unremarkable song.
