Getting to Know Each Other

Michael Blowhard writes:

Dear Blowhards --

Lots of terrific comments, thoughts, and observations have piled up on postings here recently. Since part of what's enjoyable for me about these blog-conversations is the chance to go beyond the immediate topic and explore other people's websites, I decided to list-and-link to a bunch of them. (Our bloglist in the left-hand column is always available, but I worry that people may not take as much advantage of it as they might.) So here's a list of sites run by recent visitors. I hope visitors will pick out a few that are unfamiliar and give them a try. You're likely to run into some you'll enjoy.

* Tinkerty Tonk
* Alan Kellogg
* Fred Himebaugh
* Waterfall
* DarkoV
* John Emerson
* Scott Chaffin
* Paul Worthington
* Ted Mills
* Joseph Clarke
* GayLikeAFox
* Peter
* Mac Kane
* David Sucher
* Cowtown Pattie
* ChaiTeaLatte
* IJSbrand
* Ralph
* Rob Asumendi
* Tosy and Cosh
* ChicagoBoyz
* James Russell (I'm sorry to see that James has abandoned blogdom. He was always a lively, smart and provocative presence. But I'm glad that he's listed a selection of his best postings; it's easy and rewarding to check out.)
* SYAffolee
* Shouting Thomas
* Neha Bawa
* Mike Hill
* Garth
* Yahmdallah
* Bixblog
* Scott Dagostino
* Robert Garlitz

Did I miss anyone?

Blogdom is bliss.

Best,

Michael

Hi, thanks for the link. You have a couple of mis-links in there, though--mine and Fred Himebaugh's, and maybe a couple of others.

Whoops, I'll scoot in an try to correct. Tks.

Posted by: Michael Blowhard on May 5, 2005 12:47 PM

Fixed. I think/hope. I've been having the wierdest damn trouble with copy-and-paste in the last few days ... Sometimes makes me feel like my computer has become dyslexic.

Thanks!

As someone who's used your Blogroll more than once to pass the time during particularly long Finance or Accounting classes, might I make a suggestion for future such exercises? A series of links like this one is intimidating -- I mean, as an unemployed and generally lazy graduate student I probably have the time to go through all of them at once, but most people (I imagine) would rather only explore a half-dozen new blogs at a time. Maybe you could break up the list and scatter it across the calendar for us, in your infinite generosity? I even make the suggestion as someone who doesn't link to his own blog....

(Not to impugn on the obvious effort of all those "A HREF"s, of course -- they're a pain, ugh.)

Posted by: Michael on May 5, 2005 02:29 PM

That's probably a good idea, thanks. What's your own blog?

Posted by: Michael Blowhard on May 5, 2005 02:57 PM

Heeeyyy! Thanks.

Hmm, lots and lots of interesting links. Cool.

Posted by: MD (ChaiTeaLatte) on May 5, 2005 03:48 PM

Amazing range of interests and perspective. Thanks.

Posted by: Ralph on May 5, 2005 05:05 PM

Michael,
Hvala ti puno! Thanks, of the very much kind, for the link.

Posted by: DarkoV on May 5, 2005 05:49 PM

Now to update your blogroll, in at least one case. :)

In any case, be interesting to see one of your link round-ups again, with commentary and all that.

Posted by: Alan Kellogg on May 5, 2005 06:34 PM

Great knowing/getting-to-know all of you.

Alan -- Hint taken.

Posted by: Michael Blowhard on May 5, 2005 07:00 PM

Thanks for the link!

Posted by: Rachel on May 6, 2005 05:56 AM

Ha, if that isn't a hint I should write more English posts on my weblog, I don't know what is. Thanks.

[By the way, The "ij" or "IJ" is a one-letter vowel uniquily Dutch/Frisian. In Unicode Latin extended A it is represented by the codes 0x0132 for IJ and 0x0133 for ij. But it's easier to type i and j]

Thanks for the link!

I'm honoured, though a bit intimidated -- I think of Homer Simpson watching Garrison Keillor, then banging the side of his TV while yelling, "Be funnier!"

Thanks to your recognition, I hereby vow to be more interesting! :D

I also want to thank you for the link. It is greatly appreciated.

But also, thanks for your great blog. All the blowhards have made this one of the most enjoyable, consistent, and eclectic blogs out there. Kudos.

I commonly refer to you as my agent. Ha!

Posted by: Searchie on May 6, 2005 12:51 PM

It's a love-in!
