 Free Views -- Stop-Action Webographs

Is it a new art form? An online show of Parisian-street photography by David Crawford -- only they aren't photographs, really. They're like stop-action micro-movies -- three or four frames sequenced, with the sequence repeating over and over, and presented as a kind of individual photograph. Words, as ever, fail me, but the exhibit is worth checking out. It's here.

Wow. Those are very intriguing. I especially liked Nos. 3, 4, 7, 9 and 15. In the introduction, the photographer explains he shot them with a still camera which can crank out 64 shots a second. I assume that he only used a selection of the stills in each animation--do you agree? I wonder what software he uses to create his little movies. Obviously, I'm ignorant as all get out about this, but I'd like to know more. Seems like I might take a stab at something like this myself. A new frontier for 2blowhards!
