I'm Sorry. Why Aren't You?

Michael Blowhard writes:

Dear Blowhards --

Amusingly-exasperated quote for the day comes from a former president of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar. "What is the reason ... we, the West, always should be apologiz(ing) and they never should apologize?" he said to The Hudson Intitute. "It's absurd! They occupied Spain for eight centuries!"

PM, not President.

Bravo, Aznar.

Viva la Reconquista.

At the risk of stating the obvious:
People in the West are afraid. They are afraid of being blown up or having their heads chopped off by you know who.

Posted by: Sam Boogliodemus on October 1, 2006 1:27 PM

Dear blowhard,

Please define "we, the west" and "them." Would like to see this in context.

Posted by: Joe Moran on October 1, 2006 5:45 PM

Not so obvious, Sam. Is "you know who" an islamic terrorist or a christian one? :)

Posted by: Spoonman on October 1, 2006 8:48 PM

Name a Christian terrorist. Just one. Also, list the last "terrorist act". You might want to desist from your anti-chrisian and anti-semitc scapegoating. Not because I or anyone else can't bear it, but because it makes you look like a total idiot who has no clue what he is talking about, and in the lacuna of his ignorance, fills it in with his favorite group to hate. Thanks.

Spoonman - missing the christian terrorists that strap dynamite to thier bodies and go to malls to blow up jews and other unbelievers. Missing the christian head chopping porn. Sorry.

Really? Have you not been watching the news? Have you not seen the christian crusade that's currently going on right now to once again free "the holy land"? Have you not seen the tortures of prisoners, the murdering of innocent women and children all in the name of "the jayzus", but concealed in some bid to spread "democracy". The same democracy that's being removed on a daily basis from the same people fighting for it? Have you not seen our fearful leader spreading the same hate and using the same fear tactics as his long-bearded brother?

You can't see that what's currently going on is not an attempt to retaliate for 9/11 or to spread "freedom" but an overt jihad against those who don't follow the cross and *I* am the idiot. Yeah, keep telling yourself that in five years when a guy in a red robe is standing over you turning the wheel on the rack.

The difference is, I'm aware that I could be wrong. In fact, I hope to god (pun intended) that I am. Unfortunately, with all of the evidence to the contrary, I'm afraid I won't be. Yes, afraid. Not of bin laden or al queda, but of the christian minority that has seized control of our government. Of the blind populace, unable to see the steep slope we're sliding down. All religions are fairy tales, there's no difference between christian, muslim, jew. They're all striving to end the world all in the name of their own misinterpretation of a book of stories, and the rest of us are going to go down with them.

But, to answer the question of name one christian terrorist, I can't. I can, however, see into the future. Can you?

Posted by: Spoonman on October 3, 2006 8:57 AM

Spoonman, you are an idiot.

Thanks for improving my mood.

Posted by: Tat on October 3, 2006 12:19 PM

the christian minority that has seized control of our government

"Christian minority"?

Won election and reelection in close races = "seized control of our government"?

Interesting sense of priorities you have there.

Posted by: Jonathan on October 3, 2006 3:03 PM

Tat, you're more than welcome. If you can't enlighten the drooling masses, at least try and entertain 'em. :)

Jonathan, given all of the evidence to the contrary, I believe they won the elections about as much as I believe "the jayzus" was a real diety. That's coming from a guy who voted 'pub all his life, BTW.

So, who's up next with the ideological rhetoric? Or, are there actually any folks here who can think for themselves?

Posted by: Spoonman on October 3, 2006 4:07 PM

What sense of priorities?
The guy can see into the future, didn't you read that?

My coworkers are all staring at me, laughing in front of monitor - and I know what they are thinking. [what possibly could be so entertaining in LEED' requirements for commercial carpets?]

Posted by: Tat on October 3, 2006 4:12 PM

Tat, just an FYI, when the words are blue like that, it means there's a link to click.

Posted by: Spoonman on October 3, 2006 5:15 PM

You call what you do thinking? You're going to take on all ideological opponents? With what? Ridiculous assertions and name-calling? Here's a clue for you buddy--in order to have a debate, you need facts and you need to answer your opponents points. There is not one shred of evidence that there is any organized or random christian terrorism, that the armies of several countries (including muslim ones) which are involved in Iraq and Afghanistan are there to take over the countries for "the Jesus", or that christians (who make up the vast majority of americans) have "seized control of the government" (if they have, they did it in the late 1780's, and have never reliquished it).

Okay, I'm ready now for the name-calling and wildly false assertions with no basis in reality. No food or drinks in my mouth to choke on while laughing my ass off, and I'm lying on the couch so I don't fall on anything sharp or hard either. Let 'er rip, Spoonman! Show us how stupid we are!
