Courtney Crit

Michael Blowhard writes:

Dear Blowhards --

Courtney and Kurt's daughter, Frances Bean, is now 13. And Frances Bean thinks that her mom really ought to dress in a more dignified way.

The demands kids make, eh?

Best,

Michael

Her daughter's embarassed about Courtney's manner of dressing? How about the fact that she's a hopeless drug addict?

Many Eastern religions say we choose our parents -- what was Frances thinking?

Maybe she's mature for her age, and wise beyond her years, and so she already realizes that the foundation, the starting point, of feminine appeal is a sense of propriety and modesty, and she looks at her mom and feels sorry for her.

"be free & listen to other's advice" - post rehab Courtney. maybe switching poisons, not abstinence, could yield gems of even greater elegance.

Have you seen the recently filmed Pamela Anderson roast on Comedy Central? Rather funny, at times, if you like Rickles-style insult humor. (I do.)

Anyway, Love was out of her gourd. The most vicious insults were directed towards her, and she did not take them well. Whereas most participants took their lumps, at worst, with a pained but generous smile (poor Bea Arthur was a few generations out of her element), Courtney Love would flop around, cigarette in hand, spewing obscenities. This, with constant, slurred insisting that she's been clean for a year.

The program may have been a roast of Pamela Anderson, but it was ultimately an indictment of Love's ability to stay clean. A must-see.

Hey - if Love says she is clean then she must be, right? That seems to be how we judge folks today. Ignore the obvious and follow the sheep...........

Could be. Or maybe she's a rebellious teenager. And if your mother happens to be a sex 'n' drugs 'n' rock 'n' roll type, then how else is a girl going to rebel except by minding her manners, dressing modestly, and doing her homework? Talk about role reversal.

Frances should take an interest in opera and Catholicism next. That'll show her mom.

How about the fact that she killed Dad?

Hehe. Seriously, though, it was pretty interesting to see the documentary where ACLU members shout down one of the filmmakers, as he's trying to raise the idea that one of their donors is of highly suspect character.
